He had been married for 10 years with no children. With him was his wife Myrtle Mauck, age 33 (July 1866-Pennsylvania); mother-in-law Anna E. DeHaven, age 60 (July 1839-New Jersey); and sister-in-law Carrie H. DeHaven, age 14 (September 1885-Pennsylvania. Annie E. DeHaven was shown to have had two children with only one living. It reflects that he has been married four years and that it is is 1st marriage (wrong). January 27, 1920: Carolyn Garland shown as a 32 (1888-Pennsylvania) year old stenographer with the government living at 94 Orchard Street, Ward # 9, 11th District, City of Newark, Essex County, New Jersey. With her was her daughter Carice Garland, age 9 (1911- Massachusetts). Carolyn was listed as a widow. (Rice Galvan Garland was still alive). They were living in a boarding house kept by Anna Head. 1920: Inscription on grave of Carolyn "Carrie" DeHaven Garland. Malvern Baptist Church, Malvern, Chester County, Pennsylvania. On November 17, 2006 I called Mrs. James Genn of 6 Woodland Drive, Willistown, Pennsylvania at 610-296-0566. They take care of the cemetery. There are no records of the burial other than the names of the people and where they are buried.
