Reprinted Nov 1991 by Aden Eby, Cambridge, Ontario, Canada), John Eby, the eldest son of David Davis Eby, settled near Canton, Ohio, in 1807, several years ahead of his father. He was one of the pioneer school masaters of that section. He was married a second time and had a family of seventeen children, whose names were as follows: Samuel, Michael, Daniel, David, Gabriel, Peter, Mary, Susan, Salome, Joseph, Jacob, John, Catharine, Elizabeth, Adam, Thomas, and Simon. Of the descendants of some of these nothing is known and but little has bee.

His family consisted of five children, one sone (named Wesley) and four daughters, all of whom were born in Harrisburg, Ohio. In later years he moved to Indiana".
