Obituary WINTRINGHAM -- At Millbrook, on the 19th of Ninth month, 1891, Jeremiah Wintringham, in the 75th year of his age; a member of New York Monthly Meeting. His was a quiet, peaceful, upright life, in the home loving and indulgent, as a friend kind and sympathetic, in business affairs true and just. As was stated at his funeral he “squared his conduct by the Golden Rule.” In our sorrow there is the beautiful, consoling thought of the blessed reunion in heaven, with his beloved companion, gone not long before.  [5

    • In 1870 living with wife, Elizabeth, and two children, Clement and Helen. Also two Irish servants. Interesting piece in NY Times archives from 1866, referencing Jeremiah as a plaintiff in a lawsuit “Law Reports.; Curious Developments-Proceedings in Court Relative to the former Line of Charleston Steamers - How the Steamer Nashville came to be a Rebel Privateer, and how Judgments are Sometimes obtained in this City - A Large amount of Money Involved. Court of Special Sessions. Decisions” http://select.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=F00815FA3E59137A93C7A81783D85F428684F9
