• Obituary: From the Jackson Citizen Press, 25 Dec 1916: Benjamin M. Byrne Benjamin Mosher Byrne passed away Saturday evening at his residence, 611 West Biddle street, following two week's illness from pneumonia. Mr. Byrne, was was aged 45 years, was a native of Jackson and had resided here his entire life. He was the only son of the late Gilbert R. Byrne and Jane Mosher Byrne. He is survived by his mother, his widow and one son, Gilbert, a student at the U of M. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. R. C. Connor, Mrs. G. W. Scotford, Mrs. C. W. Norman and Mrs. A. H. Smith. Deceased was a veteran of the the Spanish-American war, having served in the Thirty-First Michigan infantry. He was for many years connected with the Jackson City bank, but of late years has been in the automobile business. The funeral will be held at the residence, Tuesday morning at 10:30, and will be private. Interment will be made in the family lot at Mt. Evergreen cemetery.
