James Archer Ebi Obituary

Arch Ebi
Heart Attack Fatal To Former Hollister Resident in Hanford

Sudden death came yesterday to Arch Ebi, former Hollister resident, at his place of business in Hanford.

Mr. Ebi, who was born and reared in Hollister, died of a heart attack at his plumbing and supplies store which he operated in the valley community for many years. Although he had been ill with influenza in November, he had fully recovered and his sudden death came as a severe blow to his family and friends. He was last in Hollister in December, when he visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. U.A. Ebi, and brother, Alvin.

Born in Hollister, Mr. Ebi lived here until he grew into manhood when he moved to Hanford to enter business. He later returned to Hollister for a few years, but returned again to Hanford.

In addition to his parents and brother here, he leaves his widow, Sadie Austin Ebi; a son, Earl, of Chicago; a daughter, Bernice Coen, of Roseburg, Ore., and a niece, Mrs. John Byrne of Santa Cruz.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hanford from the Presbyterian church, and private family services later the same day in Hollister. Burial will be in the IOOF cemetery.
