    Text RICHARD WEEMS KING

    Richard Weems King, 65, of Kinston, NC passed away on Monday, January 16, 2012. Born in Baltimore, Md on February 11, 1946, he was the son of Elizabeth Trapnell King and the late Lt. Col. William Joseph King. Dick spent his teenage years in Wilmington, graduating from New Hanover High School and UNC-W. He served his country as a staff sergeant in the US Air Force. Dick moved to Kinston where he taught school and later worked at Electrolux. He will be remembered as a kind man who was always ready and willing to help his friends, neighbors, and fellow workers.

    In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Maria King Butler, husband Severin and grandsons Colin and Anderson of Florence, SC; sisters Betsy King Shi and husband, Steve, of Alto, Ga. and Ginger King Wells and husband, Bob, of Hampstead; brother James Trapnell King and wife, Laura, of Atlanta; and his special companion, Ann Harper, and her children.
