Passing of Anna Austin

News comes of the death of Miss Anne Austin in Berkeley and notice of the funeral which is to be held in Hollister from the former family home.

Miss Austin was a student in the local high school and for many years as a teacher in the public schools of this city. Her lines were not cast in pleasant places from a superficial standpoint. Her parents were respected pioneers in California, but like so many other Argonauts, they failed to hold fast to the easy money of early days, and for years Anne was the prop and support of the family. Her own illness followed and her last battle has been of thirteen months duration after the doctors had pronounced her incurable, and her end immediate. Devoted friends have ministered unto in these latter days with a loyalty and devotion that elicits praise from those who know.
