    Text PORTSMOUTH - Gilma Fay Byrne, 80, passed away Jan. 24, 2006. He was a native of North Carolina and a retired pipe fitter and insulator for Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was also a decorated Navy veteran of World War II and Korea.
    Fay is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Byrne; his sister, Nellie Truitt; a son; three daughters; two granddaughters, three grandsons and many nieces and nephews.
    A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Veterans Association or to the American Heart Association. Condolences may be made at www.lovingfuneralhome.com.
