• Notes

  Only evidence found so far of the STEWART - BROWN family in early 19th century Pennsylvania is the affadavit for insanity that Sarah Ann Stewart Rue’s daughters, Annie Rue Austin and Mary Rue Frost, filed for her commital in Aug 1929. In that document, they did not provide name of father, but did provide maiden name of mother, BROWN, and that there were zero (0) living and three (3) deceased children. Since Sarah was still alive, this would imply four (4) children total, of which only Edward has been identified.
