He was buried in the yard of the Marlboro Brick church, and his age, inscribed on his tombstone, was 86 years and 6 months. He married first Neeltje, daughter of Benjamin VanMater and Elizabeth Laen, his wife, and had by her five children. His second wife was Antje, daughter of Peter Janse Schenck and Jannetj.
