    Frank Haller succumbs at 90 after long illness

    Frank Haller, 90, resident of San Benito County for more than 50 years, died in a local hospital Sunday following a long illness.

    A native of Wichita, Kans., Mr. Haller r came to Hollister in 1924 to become manager of the Sterling Lumber Company. He also farmed with his brothers in the Lone Tree district.

    A 50-year member of San Benito Lodge No. 211,' F. & A.M., he made his home at 571 Fourth St.

    He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Grace Haller of Hollister a brother, Edwin Haller, Los Gatos, and a step-daughter, Mrs. Vivian Ebi Byrne, Santa Cruz. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Black-Cooper-Ottesen Mortuary with interment in the I00F Cemetery.

    Occupation Early on Frank worked on farm equipment, then worked in general stores in Kansas. He and his brother, Edwin, came to Calfiornia and opened a shoe store in Los Gatos. That store had a short life, and Frank ultimately became a lumber retailer  [8

    • A wedding of local interest took place at noon today when Grace Ebi became the bride of Frank Haller at a quiet ceremony at the First Presbyterian manse in San Jose.

    The marriage service was performed by the Reverend Albert H. Saunders, and the couple were un attended. Following a brief honeymoon in the bay arca. Mr. and Mrs. Haller will make their home in Hollister where the groom is engaged in the lumber business.  [14

    From a letter Frank's wife, Grace, wrote to her daughter, Vivian, shortly after Frank's death, Frank specifically requested not to have the same headstone as the other Ebis (assume this was cost). Grace was going to get him one anyway, but reconsidered and chose one similar to that for her nephew, Earl Ebi, who had recently died.
