  Obituary	From The Californian, 13 Apr 1993: Howard S. Byrne, retired educator Howard S. Byrne of Carmel died unexpectedly Saturday at Natividad Medical Center while visiting family in Salinas. He was 79. A native of Santa Cruz, Mr. Byrne lived in Carmel and the Monterey Peninsula for 49 years. He was a retired industrial arts educator after 30 years with Carmel High School. Mr. Byrne is survived by his wife, Genevieve Byrne of Carmel; two daughters, Suzanne Whitlow of Tucson, Ariz., and Cynthia Byrne Ochoa of Salinas; two sons, Gerald Byrne of Carmel and Michael Byrne of Thousand Palms; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. Memorial services are pending. Healey Mortuary will scatter his ashes off of Point Lobos.  [10]
