Reprinted Nov 1991 by Aden Eby, Cambridge, Ontario, Canada), John Eby, the eldest son of David Davis Eby, settled near Canton, Ohio, in 1807, several years ahead of his father. He was one of the pioneer school masaters of that section. He was married a second time and had a family of seventeen children, whose names were as follows: Samuel, Michael, Daniel, David, Gabriel, Peter, Mary, Susan, Salome, Joseph, Jacob, John, Catharine, Elizabeth, Adam, Thomas, and Simon. Of the descendants of some of these nothing is known and but little has bee.

While yet a young man he went to Michigan, and in 1835 he married to Esther Shelhammer. To them were born four children, two of whom were twins named Owen and Olive.", p. 53.
