  Notes	Both on Benjamin’s death notice in 1866 in Michigan and in the 1850 census the age given would indicate he was born around December 1770, not December 1774 as documented in Clara Stone’s Griffing genealogy record from 1881. The source of Stone’s assertion of 1774 as birth year is unclear, and remains an open question for me. [1, 6]
