  Obituary	From the Brooklyn Eagle 9 May 1911: Isaac I: Van Amburgh. Funeral services were held at his home at Gien Cove, L. I., this morning for Isaac J. Van Amburgh, an old resident of that village, who died on Saturday. Mr. Van Amburgh had been in poor health for the past two years, and was stricken in New York a week or so ago. He was brought to Glen Cove, but failed to rally. Isaac J. Van Amburgh was born in Newark, N. J., 87 years ago. Later he located in Brooklyn, and for fifty years lived in the Greenpoint section. He had been a resident of Glen Cove for the past fourteen years. He was a member of the Greenpoint M. E. Church. Mr. Van Amburgh was married twice. His first wife was Harriet Tice of Peekskill, N. Y. His second wife, who survives him, was Mrs. Mary Coles Titus. widow of Jacob Titus of Glen Cove. Interment will be at Croton, N. Y., this afternoon..  [2]

  Notes	From the Brooklyn Citizen, 16 Dec 1898 A GLEN COVE WEDDING. Mrs. Mary Coles Titus Becomes Mrs. Van Amburgh. GLEN COVE, L.I., Dec. 16.-Mrs. Mary Coles-Titus, widow of Jacob W. Titus, of this place, and Mr. Isaac J. Van Amburgh, of Peekskill, were quietly married at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Coles, on Forest avenue at 1:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon by the Rev. John W. Gammack, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, this village. Only members of the bride's family were present at the ceremony, and the happy couple left on the 2:42 westbound train en route for Buffalo, where they will remain until Christmas. They will then go to Folrida for the remainder of the winter. They will go to California in the spring, and during their absence a house will be built for them in this village, where they will next summer take up their permanent residence. Mrs. Van Amburgh wore a beautiful traveling dress of a rich dark brown material, which was covered when she emerged from the house by a superb sealskin saque, a present from her husband. People are commenting everywhere on the rumor that he settled $70,000 on her shortly before the ceremony, some saying he gave her the bulk of his property. Mr. Van Amburgh is between seventy and eighty years old, and his bride just thirty. From the Brooklyn Eagle, 16 Dec 1898 Van Amburgh - Titus Glen Cove, L.I., Dec 16 - Mrs. Mary Coles Titus and Isaac J Van Amburgh were married yesterday afternoon, at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. & Mrs William H Coles of Forest Avenue. The Rev. John W Gammack, rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, officiated. Only the immediate family were present. Mr. and Mrs. Van Amburgh left on the evening train for Buffalo, where they will spend a few weeks before their departure for Florida, where they will spend the winter. Mr. Van Amburgh was for many years a resident of Greenpoint, but has recently resided at Peekskill, NY. [3, 4]
