Said last mentioned John Moss was a son of Thomas Moss, of Fairfax county, Virginia, who was the son of Thomas Moss, of Westmoreland county, Virginia, and the latter a descendant of Edward Moss, of York county, Virginia, whose father came to Virginia in 1625, from Staffordshire, England.
