  Obituary	From the Hollister Free Lance, 16 Dec 1912: GEORGE A. LEIGAN IS CALLED BY DEATH Well Known Resident of This County Passes Away Suddenly 'After illness of : Less Than Twenty-Four Hours. After an illness of barely twenty-four hours duration, George A Leigan died suddenly yesterday evening at his home on the Bird Creek road, a few miles southwest of town. Although he has been unwell for a long time, it was not thought that his condition was serious and his sudden death will prove a shock to his friends. Saturday evening he was stricken with acute pains in the abdominal region. Doctors Hull and Curtis were called and it is said were of the opinion that the patient's trouble was caused by gall stones. An operation was decided upon, but before it could be performed the hand of death intervened. The deceased leaves a mother living in Iowa, a wife and a son here, the latter aged but five years. Three aunts, Mrs. George Austin, Mrs. Olive Webster and Mrs. J. H. Frost are residents here. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon, from the residence to the M. E. Church here, where at 2 o'clock services will be held. Interment will take place in the Odd Fellows cemetery.  [4]

  	Mrs. E.S. Jenkins received a message Monday telling of the death of her brother, George A Leigan, at Hollister, Calif. Mr. Leigan formerly lived here. Mrs. Wm. Grimm of this city is also a sister.
