  Obituary	From The Brooklyn Daily Times, 24 Apr 1897 J. W. Homan. Word was received at Patchogue yesterday of the death on Wednesday of last week, of I. W. Homan, of New Orleans, a former resident of Patchogue. Mr. Homan was a prosperous merchant of that city. Two weeks ago he was taken sick with acute bronchitis. Mr. Homan was to born at Patchogue in August, 1830, and moved to New Orleans when A young man. He was active in business and had made and lost two fortunes. The frst fortune he lost by the Civil War and the second by a flood fifteen years ago. He was a leading Mason and was prominently connected with Jultman Lodge of that city, and also an officer in the Knights Templars. He was a brother to George F. Homan, Mrs. William Roe and Mrs. Joel Furman, of Patchogue.  [1]
