    Text 'Wedding Bells', With Bridal Procession, Given By Congregational Women's Club Following Beautifully Appointed Lunch

    Wedding gowns going back to 1868 and attractive misses in the old-time gowns and numbers appearing in the gowns worn by them on their wedding day, were a feature of the June gathering of the Congregational Women's club which centered this meeting on "Wedding Bells" About 140 were at the noon luncheon and more joined the group for the afternoon program. The church decorations were in white of the watsonias and lilies and touches from pink by an arrangement of hydrangeas.

    Beverly Byrne led with the pastor, Rev. Heber St. Clair Mahood. She wore the blue silk gown en traine worn by her great aunt, Mrs. Mabel Byrne, in 1891 (actually 1899). The same gown had been worn by Mrs.Byrne's mother, Mrs. Louise Drennan in 1868 when she was married at the Pacific Ocean House. In slow succession they moved down the aisle. Marjorie Bassett wore a while gown with veil worn in 18(i!) by Mrs. Frisbie and loaned by May Hacking.
