Mrs. Olive E. Stone, for the past 46 years a resident of San Benito county, died at her home on San Benito street shortly after noon yesterday, death ending an illness of over a year's duration.
Mrs. Stone was well known throughout the county, having been a kindly Christian woman, always willing to help those In distress and was an active community worker, being a charter member of the Woman's Club.
Mrs. Stone never fully recovered an attack of influenza a year ago and death resulted from the after effects of the disease.
A member of a pioneer family who came west 46 years ago, Mrs. Stone was born at Gardner, Kan., 62 years ago. Five generations of her family are living today.
When the World War broke out, her only two sons were members of the United States forces. Her oldest son, Major Logan Searle, a graduate of West Point, saw service over seas, and her other son, Cecil W. Buckley, was lieutenant in the air service, having enlisted in the army shortly after war was declared.
Besides her two sons, she leaves to mourn her loss, a husband, James A. Stone, her mother, Mrs. Sarah Rue, and following brothers and sisters: Mrs. George W. Austin, Mrs. Mary F. Frost, of Hollister, Mrs. Frank Mayhew, of San Francisco, Mrs. John Isaacs, of San Diego, and Fred Rue, of San Jose.
The funeral, which is in charge of the Black-Cooper Company, will be held from the Christian Church at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Burial will be made in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.Linked to
