    Text J. E. SERLES PASSES AWAY

    James Edgar Serles, a resident here for the past 35 years and of California for 59 years, died last night at his home, 450. Front street, following a lingering illness. He was 66 years of age, having been born February 24, 1867, at Yates City, Ill. He was a former employe of the Ventura Manufacturing & Implement Co.

    Serles is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ethel Parmer of Fontana; one son, E. B. Serles of Ventura; one sister, Mrs. M. L. Bruce of Hollister, and by eight grandchildren. Funeral services, which are awaiting the arrival of relatives, are to be announced later by the Reardon Funeral Home.
