Text My father told me that his father”s (Charles Harvey Russell’s) 1st wife died, leaving him with a 2 yr old son (Will). Soon, wife #2 (Marion) was in place. My records have Marion b.1870 in Paw Paw MI d.1945 in Plainfield NJ She and Charles Russell had 3 children: Margaret b.1894, Philip Norman b.1907 d.1982 in Minneapolis Howard Ewing b.1909. Both boys born in Plainfield NJ but I don’t know about Margaret . . she may have been born in Jackson. Margaret was called “Peg" and Howard called “Pete". I have no info about Will . . my father seemed not to care about him but I think he went in the army in WW1.

This all is much info and so much confusion! I know nothing of 2nd wife Florence or my g’father or g’mother being in California. My father did have 2 cousins in Calif. because I remember (as a child) we got Xmas cards from cousin Sue & cousin Jo. I think my g’father (Charles) died in 1937 because I was told he died when I was 2 (I’m an old lady!) What I know about him (Charles) is minimal. He supposedly as a young man (maybe teenager) worked for a variety store in Jackson(?) and suggested that they put a table outside with things costing 5 & 10 cents and it was a big hit and continued by the store , starting the theme “5 & dime”. He was one of the first 5 employees of a hardware company (American Fork & Hoe) which took him to NY {Plainfield NJ) . . where he worked the rest of his life, traveling in to NY on the train each day. My father also worked there all his career as co. name changed to True Temper Tools, then Amalgimated Tools(?) but this is all “Russell” info not "Byrne" except that Marion live in Plainfield for the rest of her life. I was born in Plainfield & lived there “til I was 6 then we moved each year as my father was head of expansion. in 1945 we were in Minneapolis when my mother (Amie Dryden Hall) was diagnosed with breast cancer & my father refused further moves. I lived in Mpls “til 1994 when I moved to Naples FL to trade ice & snow for sunshine! I do go on . . there’s my story as I Know it.
