Text Earle John Maixner, 93, passed away March 31, in Hawaii. We will miss his Irish wit and humor, but we are comforted knowing that he is in the presence of the Lord. While serving in the Coast Guard during WWII, he met his "bride", Roberta Byrne. Earle worked as a switchman for Southern Pacific Railroad 15 years; was a businessman in Bakersfield, owning The Chinchilla Guild for 15 years; was an apartment manager in Oxnard and Kona for 15 years; and spent the past 18 years retired near Naalehu, Hawaii. He was deacon at his local church, loved his dogs, music, "fixing" things, and kept busy puttering around the farm. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Roberta; son, Mike Maixner and wife, Dianne of Tehachapi; son, Jay Maxner and wife, Pearl of Hawaii; daughter, Maureen Palmer and husband, Dennis of Bakersfield; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and his sister, May Gisler, 94, of San Luis Obispo. A memorial service will take place in Hawaii. Earle John Maixner Feb. 19, 1914 - Mar. 31, 2007
