Newspaper columnist Hugh Brown, who covered Philadelphia sports for two decades died yesterday. He was 76.
Brown worked as a wire editor for the Philadelphia Record before its acquisition by the now-defunct Bulletin. At the Bulletin, Brown held a number of posts but specialized in covering the Eagles. He retired in the mid-1970s.
He also helped former Eagles quarterback and coach Norm Van Brocklin write a book on how to throw a forward pass.
Brown, a resident of Savannah, Tenn, is survived by his second wife, Virginia; his sone, Noel; and a daughter, Nancy Daugherty.Linked to (6) Virginia
