Mrs. Martha Rawling Fugmann, 83, of Knox Road, widow of EMil Fugmann died last night at her home after a long illness.
Mr. and Mrs. Fugmann operated the Yokum Seat Mountain House catering to skiers for many years. The family also maintained a dairy farm. Mr. Fugmann was in the contracting business for many years, retiring to open the boarding house.
Mrs. Fugmann was a native of West Stockbridge. Her father's father, James Rawling, was one of the early settlers in that town. He was superintendent of two iron-ore mines there. The family lived for a while in Albany before moving to Pittsfield.
Mrs. Fugmann leaves two daughters, Mrs. W. L. Chapman and Mrs. William J. Care, and a son, William, all of this city, 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at the family home Monday afternoon at 2. The Rev. James M. Ault of the First Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Pittsfield Cemetery.
