He was 76. Brown worked as a wire editor for the Philadelphia Record before its acquisition by the now-defunct Bulletin. At the Bulletin, Brown held a number of posts but specialized in covering the Eagles. He retired in the mid-1970s. He also helped former Eagles quarterback and coach Norm Van Brocklin write a book on how to throw a forward pass.
