• Obituary: From Santa Cruz Sentinel, 17 Nov 1983 Everett S. Hillard Private family services are pending for Everett S. Hillard, a former Santa Cruz resident, who died Monday at his Salinas home following a long illness. He was 59. A native of Stockton, Mr. Hillard was a graduate of Santa Cruz High School and from the University of the Pacific in Stockton. He also attended Golden Gate University in San Francisco. He was on the Board of Directors of Growers Vacuum Cool Inc. and Vegetable Growers Supply. He was also secretary for Pacific Freezer Inc. and Hardin Farms Inc. Mr. Hillard was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Salinas; Salinas Elks Lodge No. 614; and Corral de Tierra Golf and Country Club of Salinas. During World War II he served in the Army. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Hillard of Salinas; sons, Griffin E. Hillard of Salinas and Bradley J. Hillard of Jackson; and mother, Mildred A. Hillard of Pacific Grove. Private family services are under the direction of Struve and Laporte Funeral Chapel, Salinas. Contributions to the Equipment Fund of Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital are preferred.
