• Obituary: From the Central New Jersey Home News, 7 Mar 1959: MISS JOAN KARSHMER  NEW YORK CITY – Miss Joan Karshmer, 31. 1075 1st Ave., died suddenly at her home yesterday morning.  A native of New Brunswick, N. J. she was the daughter of Mrs. Rose Sheinaus Karshmer, formerly of Highland Park, N. J., and the late Dr. Louis Karshmer.  Miss Karshmer graduated from; Douglass College and the University of Wisconsin. She studied at; the Sorbonne, France, in 1950. At the time of her death, she was employed by "The Reporter" magazine here. Besides her mother, she leaves a brother, of Beverly Hills, Calif.; two uncles, Dr. Nathan Karshmer of New Brunswick and Louis Sheinhaus, Long Island; and three aunts, Mrs. David Steinberg, New Brunswick, Mrs, Frank Sheiner, Sunnyside,  L. I. and Mrs. Henry Lerner of Miami, Fla.  The Funeral is scheduled for tomorrow at noon in the Jaqui Funeral Home, 17 S. Adelaide Ave., Highland Park, with Rabbi Philip Raymon officiating.  Interment will be in the family plot at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ.
