    Text Hollister Free Lance: As an example of what a great amount of good is done, unobtrusively, in this world by the fraternal orders the case of the late L.B. Austin may be cited. During his connection with Mound Lodge I.O.O.F., of this place he paid into the lodge about $300 in dues, and drew out in sick benefits, nurses’ hire, etc., about $4000. The lodge’s care of him did not cease when he expired. His remains were brought over here from Santa Cruz and given a decent burial.
